Pumpkins!!

Fall is my favorite time of year. Every year we carve pumpkins and my Yooper beau carved Michigan and the lakes surrounding our great state on his pumpkin. Pretty awesome! Mine was your classic Jack O Lantern and our neighbors looked like a Tim Burton character. What do your pumpkins looks like?

Bridal Jewelry

Two dear friends have October weddings and I made the brides maid jewelry. I love designing jewelry for a special occasion and making pieces that can be worn again. The Savannah Necklace (http://www.etsy.com/listing/58308546/savannah-necklace) was paired with a cranberry strapless dress, beautiful for a fall wedding.

Vintage Goodness

I love a good vintage find and was recently introduced to a beautiful vintage shop on etsy. Hummingbird Store is owned by a local Michigan artist, her finds are unique and the photographs are beautiful. These are a few of my favorites. See more at http://www.HummingbirdStore.Etsy.com

Lighthouses

Lighthouses. Symbols of mystery and romance. I always imagine an old black and white film, like the Ghost of Mrs. Muir. Lots of shadows. The history is fascinating, imagining the day to day life as a light house keeper in 1857. Today lighthouses are my inspiration with the white facade, chipped paint, and blue water of lake superior. On our Upper Peninsula trip this summer we stopped at Iroquois Lighthouse and walked to the top. See more info http://www.michigan.org/Property/Detail.aspx?p=G19868

Welcome Friday

After updating etsy this week, the weekend is here. First, I am in search of the perfect carving pumpkin. Then on to Ann Arbor for some tailgating. I'm a Hoosier and we are serious tailgaters. I get excited about hats, snacks, drinks, the crisp air, scarfs, boys in uniform, and the crunch of the leaves. Not so much touchdowns and whistles. Today I found out I will be at the Detroit Urban Craft fair Dec. 4th and 5th at the Fillmore!! I did an actual fist pump Jersey Shore style and then checked to make sure no one saw me...needless to say I am very excited! More details to come.

Dear October

Fall is officially here and I love it. The Indie-ana Handicraft Exchange kicked off the fall season and was another great event organized by Amanda and Neal, the owners of Homespun, a handmade store in the Irvington hood of Indianapolis (www.homespunindy.com). My neighbors were the Binding Bee and Sara B Jewelry, two super talented Indiana artists. I ♥ Indiana.
This month I am teaching two workshops at Blue House Ann Arbor and having a trunk show Oct. 22nd. More details to come www.bluehouseannarbor.com. Happy fall!!
