Road Trip

This weekend was a productive one! Spring cleaning and lots of jewelry making. I started working with a torch and am slowly learning how to solder. Most of my time was spent applying heat to brass and copper and then staring at the pieces... they are so pretty and colorful. Here is a sneak peak with more to follow.

Travelling is one of my favorite things. I love having a trip to look forward to and researching things to do. This weekend I am heading to Asheville, NC with my two oldest friends, we have known each other since 2nd grade! On my first trip to Asheville, I am looking forward to exploring the downtown area and of course the Blue Ridge Parkway. Anybody have any tips on places to go?
Don't forget to comment on the following post to be entered in the spring giveaway!

First Day of Spring = First Jewelry Giveaway!!

I am doing my first giveaway! If you would like to be considered, please leave a comment after this post or email me at courtneyfischer@hotmail.com with your name and email. Sunday, March 29th, I will put all the names in a bowl and have my boyfriend draw the name (Thanks to Cindy for this idea, check out her blog http://cindytillustration.wordpress.com/ for her art print giveaways). You could be the happy owner of these pretties, lightweight brass with layers of patina. Thanks so much! Questions? shoot me an email.

The sun is shining and it is the first day of spring, that has to bring a smile to your face! Soon, we get to plant our gardens and watch them grow. Today I wet to lunch with a friend and we stopped in a store that I love, she has the best smelling candles. Of course, I had to get a candle and body spray that smell so good! The candle is lilac scented and if I close my eyes, I feel like I am back on my grandparents farm. The spray is called Vintage Peony and smells divine!

Flowers

I can't stop watching the Daily Show! I have a bunch of episodes tivo'd so the next few nights are planned. Love Jon Stewart.
In honor of spring and our economic situations, I created an inexpensive line of earrings named after flowers. Helps to imagine warmer days! Here are a few of the colorful baubles.

Brrr Monday

March is here and spring is on its way. I am dreaming of tulips, green grass, birds chirping, farmers markets, grilling out, and opening the windows. Won't be long. In honor of spring, I made a bracelet that is rich in color and named Poppy, rightfully so. I also handmade a new style of ear wire this weekend with oxidized silver, see below.

Anthropologie is one of my fav places to window shop and occasionaly find something on sale to have as my very own. I love the colors, materials, and especially the displays in the store. I always want to redo my kitchen when I go there and buy all the cute vintagesque mugs and such. Love these colorful mugs and the name, Cadiz. I travelled in Spain when I was in college and I want to go back!
