Road Trip

I am heading to Indiana this weekend for a quick stop to my hometown, Lafayette, and then on to Indianapolis for the Indie-ana Handicraft Exchange (http://www.indieanahandicraftexchange.com/) show, followed by a visit to my college town to see my brother in Bloomington! It will be a quick trip but I always look forward to going back home. Driving past farms and corn fields always puts a smile on my face. Above are a few pieces for the show, if you live in Indy, hope to see you there!

Inspiration

I am busy working on items for upcoming shows. Today my focus is copper and patina. On a recent trip to Louisiana, I was inspired by the deep mossy greens of the swampy bayou. Back to work!

The summer flew by, as always, and here we are with fall upon us. A few summer highlights- a week long trip to New Orleans, participating in Coterie at Pitchfork Music Festival (coteriechicago.com), and a trip to Saugatuck, MI-all in all a lovely summer. The weather is becoming chillier and it is time to pull out the chunky sweaters, which means fall craft shows are here as well! This month I am participating in Renegade Craft Fair Chicago, DIY Street Fair in Ferndale, MI Sept 19th-2oth, MiCE at the Kerrytown Market in Ann Arbor, MI Sept 27th, and to my home state of Indiana for the Indie-ana Handicraft Exchange in Indianapolis Oct 2nd and 3rd. Stay tuned for the October giveaway!

Summer is Almost Here!

Summer is almost here and the spring has flown by! I participated in some great spring shows with amazing artists and crafters. Thanks to the Handmade Detroit gals (http://www.handmadedetroit.com/) for keeping it crafty in the metro Detroit area with awesome events. Participating in Renegade Craft Brooklyn this year was a blast, we had perfect weather. I heart Brooklyn. (http://www.renegadecraft.com/). This past weekend I participated at the Indie-ana Handicraft Exchange (http://www.indieanahandicraftexchange.com/) in Indianapolis, heading back to my home state for the show. It was at the Harrison Center for the Arts and was a beautiful spot and friendly people all around. All in all, the spring shows were so fun I want to go back and do them again. Thanks to all the great people who organize these shows and all the ones who come out to support buying handmade. A few photos from Brooklyn-

May Days

May is here! Spring is everywhere and I am loving it. The flowers in bloom have inspired me even more to focus on vivid colors. Bracelets are my new favs, this winter I wore mainly earrings and now I am really into bracelets and necklaces. Keep an eye out for more of each in my etsy shop. :) This weekend will be my first trip of the season to Eastern Market (http://www.detroiteasternmarket.com/) for flowers. My Mom is a flower guru and I will be planting this weekend in honor of Mother's Day, expect some phone calls Mom!
